Hyderabad, Mar 5: The makers of the upcoming mythological thriller Vrushakarma, directed by Karthik Dandu and starring Naga Chaitanya in the lead, on Thursday unveiled an intense glimpse video that hints at a dark and mysterious storyline driven by supernatural forces.
Sharing the teaser on social media, the production house Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra described the project as “a mythical thriller like never before,” inviting audiences to step into the world of Vrushakarma.
The chilling glimpse opens with a man seemingly possessed by an evil force sketching a portrait of a man with one eye gouged out. As he finishes the drawing, he begins to writhe in pain before a bat-like creature emerges from his mouth. The creature then attacks and kills another man in the exact manner depicted in the sketch, setting the tone for the film’s dark supernatural theme.

A voiceover in the teaser says, “When an unparalleled power awakens… when creation deviates from its purpose… destiny will choose its own course,” while briefly introducing key characters played by Jayaram, Meenakshi Chaudhary and Naga Chaitanya.
The filmmakers have already revealed that Meenakshi Chaudhary plays a character named Daksha, while Jayaram appears as Professor Ranganath in the film.
The newly released footage appears to reinforce earlier statements by Naga Chaitanya about the scale and genre of the project. In a previous interview, the actor had said the film would be a mythological thriller with a strong adventure element and extensive visual effects.
“This will be a very heavy VFX-based film, and I’m extremely excited about it,” he had said, adding that the project spans a scale he has not explored before in his 15-year career. He had also described the film as blending mythological themes with adventure and treasure-hunting elements.
The title of the film was first revealed on Naga Chaitanya’s birthday last year, followed by the release of the actor’s first-look poster from the film. The poster showed him in a rugged and intense avatar, highlighting his muscular physique and fierce expression.
Vrushakarma is being produced on a grand scale by BVSN Prasad and Sukumar under the banners of Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra LLP and Sukumar Writings.
The film also features a strong technical crew. The story has been written by Sukumar, cinematography is handled by Neil D Cunha, while music is composed by Ajaneesh Loknath. Editing is being overseen by National Award-winning editor Navin Nooli, and production design is led by Sri Nagendra Tangala, who earlier worked on Naga Chaitanya’s film Thandel.
