No need to panic Goans in Gulf are safe says NRI Commissioner

Daijiworld Media Network - Panaji

Panaji, Mar 4: NRI Commissioner Narendra Sawaikar on Tuesday assured that there is no need for panic among families in Goa amid escalating tensions in parts of the Gulf region.

“I am personally in touch with Goans residing in Gulf countries. There is no need to worry; everyone is safe,” Sawaikar said, adding that he is closely monitoring the situation and maintaining regular communication with members of the Goan community abroad.

His remarks come at a time when developments in Iran have drawn global attention. Following reports of the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, announcements have reportedly been made naming his son Mojtaba Khamenei as the new leader.

Meanwhile, the prevailing situation has impacted air travel. Several flights operating from Gulf countries to Goa have reportedly been cancelled, causing inconvenience to passengers.

Authorities are keeping a close watch on further developments as tensions continue in the region.
