Mangaluru, Mar 4: Milagres Central School celebrated National Science Day on February 28 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students and teachers. The programme was conducted during the morning assembly with the objective of promoting scientific awareness and encouraging students to develop curiosity, creativity, and a spirit of inquiry.
The celebration began with a prayer, seeking blessings for the success of the programme. The event was hosted by Urvi Kaushik Karkera, who warmly welcomed the gathering. The significance of National Science Day was explained by Nashwa Kathija, who highlighted that the day is celebrated in honour of the great Indian scientist Sir C V Raman and his discovery of the Raman Effect. His remarkable contribution to science continues to inspire young minds to explore and innovate. Students then presented an engaging skit on the Periodic Table, which combined learning with entertainment and made scientific concepts easy and enjoyable to understand.




On this occasion, prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions such as herbarium making, poster making, collage making, and science quiz. These activities provided students with opportunities to showcase their creativity, knowledge, and scientific thinking skills. The efforts and participation of all students were appreciated and applauded.
The gathering was then addressed by the principal, Fr Joseph Uday Fernandes, who delivered an inspiring message encouraging students to remain curious, develop a scientific temper, and use their knowledge for the betterment of society. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the celebration.
