Mangaluru, Mar 4: The kindergarten section of St Agnes CBSE School celebrated a vibrant and exciting shapes carnival, transforming learning into a joyful and memorable experience for the little learners. The event was thoughtfully designed to help children understand different shapes through hands-on activities, creative expression, and engaging games, making learning both fun and meaningful.
The children enthusiastically brought beautifully crafted models and creative art pieces based on various shapes. Their colourful displays showcased circles, squares, triangles, rectangles, and many other fascinating shapes. The effort and imagination reflected in their work truly amazed everyone.

The carnival began with energetic songs on shapes, during which the children sang with great excitement and confidence. Their cheerful voices filled the atmosphere with happiness and enthusiasm, setting a lively tone for the day.
One of the most thrilling games was “Bombing the city with shapes,” where children aimed at shape targets and correctly identified them before tossing soft balls. This activity strengthened their shape recognition skills while making learning extremely enjoyable.
Another engaging activity involved sorting shape cut-outs. The children carefully identified and grouped different shapes with accuracy and teamwork, enhancing their observation and classification skills.
The shape treasure hunt was undoubtedly the highlight of the day. Little explorers searched around the classroom and play area to find hidden shapes, and the joy on their faces upon each discovery was truly heartwarming.
Children also participated in creating beautiful shape patterns using spoons and pebbles. By arranging the materials creatively to form various designs, the activity encouraged logical thinking, creativity, and fine motor skills.
Adding a technological touch to the carnival, a Smart Board session was conducted where children eagerly identified real-life objects displayed on the screen and connected them to their respective shapes. They learnt that shapes are present all around them—in clocks, windows, kites, and wheels.
Throughout the carnival, the children displayed confidence, enthusiasm, and active participation. Each activity was thoughtfully planned to make learning interactive, enjoyable, and meaningful.
The shapes carnival successfully blended fun with education, reinforcing the importance of experiential learning. It helped children develop fine motor skills, critical thinking, and collaborative learning in a joyful environment. The event concluded with smiling faces and joyful hearts. The shapes carnival will always be remembered as a delightful celebration where learning truly came alive through play.
