Upasnagar residents protest highway works, seek underpass for safety

Daijiworld Media Network - Sancoale

Sancoale, Mar 1: Residents of Upasnagar staged a protest against the ongoing highway works in the area, demanding the construction of an underpass to ensure the safety and smooth movement of thousands of people.

The protestors said the underpass is essential for pedestrians, schoolchildren and daily commuters who are facing difficulties due to the current road development works. They warned that they would halt the construction activities if their demand is not addressed at the earliest.

Local MLA Anton Vas visited the protest site and held discussions with the agitating residents. He assured them that a joint site inspection would be conducted along with PWD Minister Digambar Kamat on Wednesday to assess the situation and explore a feasible solution.

The residents expressed hope that the authorities would respond positively and take necessary steps to resolve the issue without further delay.
