No one at home is my fan says Anil Kapoor at Subedaar trailer launch

Daijiworld Media Network – Mumbai

Mumbai, Feb 25: Veteran actor Anil Kapoor shared a light-hearted moment at the trailer launch of his upcoming film Subedaar, revealing that despite his stardom, no one in his family is actually his fan.

Speaking at the event, Kapoor joked that his family treats him like any other member and remains largely unaware of his professional updates.

“As I was leaving home today, I told my wife I was heading for a trailer launch. She asked, ‘Which film?’ She has no idea what's happening in my professional life — and that’s the kind of family I come from. They treat me exactly the same. Sometimes I even ask for Rs 10,000–15,000 in cash before heading to a shoot,” he said with a smile.

Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor recently completed 41 years of marriage. The couple tied the knot on May 19, 1984. During the event, the actor acknowledged the sacrifices his wife made to support his career over the decades.

Reflecting on his role in Subedaar, Kapoor said he drew emotional depth from his relationship with his wife. He also spoke about his bond with daughters Sonam Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor, describing it as more like friendship.

About the film, Kapoor plays Subedaar Arjun Maurya, a retired army man who returns home only to find his region gripped by fear and unchecked power due to illegal sand-mining operations. His confrontation with Prince, played by Aditya Rawal, forms the central conflict of the story.

In a powerful dialogue from the trailer, Kapoor declares, “Fauji hai, seene mein goli jhel sakte hai, beizzati nahi,” highlighting his character’s fierce sense of dignity. As lawlessness escalates, Arjun steps in to restore order in a society overtaken by intimidation.
Subedaar is set to stream on Prime Video from March 5, 2026.
