Five police personnel killed in road mishap in Odisha

Jharsuguda, Feb 22: In a major tragedy, five police personnel lost their lives and three others sustained critical injuries after a speeding trailer rammed into their patrol vehicle in Odisha on Sunday morning.

The accident occurred near the Jharsuguda Sadar Police Station on National Highway 49 when the trailer reportedly hit the police vehicle.

Gundala Reddy Raghavendra, Superintendent of Police (SP), Jharsuguda, confirmed the incident and described it as a tragic loss for the department.

The injured personnel have been admitted to a hospital for treatment. Further details regarding the cause of the accident and the condition of the injured are awaited.
