Srinivas University, Institute of Aviation Studies holds doubles badminton tournament

Mangaluru, Feb 21: The Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University, successfully organised a doubles badminton tournament on February 14 and 17 at the Aviation Campus.

A total of 67 teams competed in the event, including 43 teams in the boys’ division and 24 teams in the girls’ division. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of BBA Aviation Management, BBA Aviation and Logistics Management, and MBA Aviation Management, who displayed remarkable sportsmanship, coordination, and competitive spirit throughout the matches.

The tournament was conducted under the guidance and support of Dr Pavithra Kumari, dean, Institute of Aviation Studies; Roshin K Sibi, head of the department; and Bhagyashree, physical director, Institute of Aviation Studies, along with Ranjith and Pramith, physical directors of Srinivas University. Their encouragement and coordination ensured the smooth and successful execution of the event.

In the men’s category, Mohammad Razik H and Mohammed Sheesh Hasan from first year BBA Aviation and Logistics Management emerged as the winners, while Tharun M and Arshin Prakash PV from second year BBA Aviation and Logistics Management secured the runners-up position.

In the women’s category, Osvita Buthello and Shenoy Ishita Ajay from final year BBA Aviation and Logistics Management claimed the championship title, while Ayshath Naziya and Vinu T Saliyan from first year MBA AM secured the runners-up position.

The matches were highly competitive and kept the audience engaged, reflecting the growing interest in sports activities among students. The event successfully achieved its objective of promoting physical fitness, teamwork, leadership qualities, and healthy competition within the campus community.
