Mangaluru: St Aloysius University holds MoU with ICT Academy

Mangaluru, Feb 20: The School of Information Science and Technology, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru, formally inaugurated the ICT Academy Skill Development Centre in collaboration with ICT Academy on December 19 at 10 AM in Eric Mathais Hall.

The programme was presided over by Dr Ronald Nazareth, registrar. The occasion was graced by Saravanan G, associate vice president – Academic Operations, Project Implementation, and Global Partnerships, ICT Academy, as the chief guest, and D Vishnu Prasad, deputy general manager and state head – Karnataka, ICT Academy, as the guest of honour. The event was further dignified by the presence of Dr Ravindraswami K, associate dean, School of Information Science and Technology; Shilpa Shetty, head of the department – BCA, Prafulla, head of the department – BSc CS & DS and Dr Royal Praveen D’Souza, assistant dean and ICT coordinator.

The programme witnessed active participation from faculty members and students.

As part of the formal proceedings, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) and ICT Academy was officially exchanged, marking a significant milestone in strengthening industry–academia collaboration. In his address, the chief guest emphasized the critical importance of industry-integrated skill development in preparing students for the evolving demands of the professional landscape and commended the University for this strategic initiative. The guest of honour highlighted the need for continuous upskilling and encouraged students to actively engage with such platforms to enhance their career readiness.

A key highlight of the programme was the distribution of Infosys Training Certificates to students who successfully completed the Skill Development Programme on “E-Commerce Team Lead,” conducted in association with ICT Academy and Infosys Foundation. The dignitaries congratulated the certificate recipients and motivated them to effectively utilize the acquired competencies for their professional advancement. The programme concluded successfully, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to promoting employability-oriented education and meaningful industry partnerships.
