Panjim, Feb 19: Shri Diwakar Salelkar, Secretary of the Village Panchayat of Santa, has been transferred to the head office of the Directorate of Panchayats (DoP) after the government granted sanction under Section 17(A) to prosecute him in an alleged corruption case.

The sanction paves the way for further legal proceedings and a detailed probe into the matter by the competent authorities.

Complainant Inacio Dominic Pereira welcomed the government’s decision and urged the Directorate of Panchayats to facilitate a free and fair investigation by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). He stressed the importance of transparency and impartiality in the inquiry to maintain public confidence in the system.

Officials have not yet issued a detailed statement outlining the timeline of the investigation. Further developments are awaited as the case proceeds under the scrutiny of the concerned authorities.
