Canadian distributor York Cinemas has announced that the film will not be released before April 30, adding to the uncertainty surrounding its theatrical debut.
The update was shared through York Cinemas’ official social media handle, confirming that the movie will not hit screens anytime soon. The brief statement read, “Dear Patrons, please note that the movie Jana Nayagan will not be released before April 30th (sic).” While no new release date was specified, the clarification effectively rules out an April launch.
The development comes months after Jana Nayagan missed its initially announced January 9, 2026 release, which had been strategically aligned with the Pongal festival. Since then, the makers have remained tight-lipped about a revised timeline.
