Thenandal films sends Rs 20 cr legal notice to Dhanush over stalled project

Chennai, Feb 14: Tamil actor Dhanush has reportedly landed in legal trouble after production house Thenandal Films issued a legal notice seeking Rs 20 crore in compensation over alleged delays in a long-pending film project.

According to reports, the banner claimed that Dhanush had signed a film titled Naan Rudran in 2016 and had agreed to both act in and direct it. However, the project allegedly failed to take off as the actor did not proceed with the shoot. While the production house said it had agreed to certain changes in the original plan, it alleged that Dhanush did not provide the complete screenplay thereafter, leading to the project being stalled.

The notice, sent through legal counsel, stated that the delay caused significant financial losses to the makers, who are now seeking monetary compensation to recover investments made during the initial stages of production. The banner has also warned of further legal action if its demands are not met within the stipulated time.

Advocate A Chidambaram, representing the production house, reportedly claimed that the film was left incomplete as Dhanush prioritised other projects and allotted call sheets to different films without finishing the pending venture.
As of now, Dhanush has not issued any public response to the allegations.

Meanwhile, the actor has officially announced his next film, tentatively titled D55, which will be directed by Rajkumar Periasamy of Amaran fame. The makers recently shared a photograph of Dhanush with the team while confirming the project, generating excitement among fans.
