Mangaluru, Feb 5: The School of Information Science and Technology at St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru, successfully concluded CodeSprint2026, a high-octane 32-hour National-Level Hackathon. The valedictory ceremony served as a fitting finale to two days of intense innovation, teamwork, and perseverance, marking the successful completion of a journey that challenged the limits of young tech minds.
The chief guest, Ranjitha Prabhu, co-founder of Codezyng, delivered an inspiring address. She specifically highlighted the resilience of human talent in the age of automation, noting that while technology evolves, jobs in the tech world cannot be replaced by AI as they rely on the unique human capacity for creativity and critical problem-solving.






Further adding to the spirit of the event, Dr Charles V Furtado, director of the Administrative Block, spoke as the guest of honour. In his speech, he lauded the initiative, stating that events like CodeSprint are vital as they open up boundaries and test the limits of what students can achieve.
The presidential address was delivered by the pro vice chancellor, Dr Melwyn D’Cunha SJ. His wise and insightful words encouraged the audience to reimagine possibilities and provided a roadmap for bridging future endeavours with present-day projects.
Sherley Ardrade, conducted the prize distribution recognizing the outstanding projects that emerged from the 32-hour marathon. The winners were categorised into internal and external participants. Each category saw amazing winners placing them I, II and III along with five consolation prizes in each category with a whooping 1 lac prize pool. The winners under external participant category were Team ByteMonks from St Joseph’s Degree and PG College, Hyderabad. The winners under internal participant category were Team CodeX from St Aloysius (Deemed to be University)-AIMIT Centre, Mangalore. The ceremony was seamlessly conducted by the emcee, Seina.
As the event drew to a close, Delisha Miranda delivered the vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the management, sponsors, faculty coordinators, and the student team whose collective efforts made CodeSprint2026 a grand success.
