Chennai, Feb 2: Anticipation around director Rajkumar Periasamy’s next film has gone up a notch with the official announcement that actress Sai Pallavi has come on board the project, which stars Dhanush in the lead. The film, currently referred to as #D55, is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about Tamil projects in recent times.
Wunderbar Films, Dhanush’s own production banner and one of the producers of the film, made the announcement on X with a warm welcome message for the actress. Calling her a rare blend of elegance and inner strength, the production house expressed excitement over the reunion of the popular Dhanush–Sai Pallavi pairing on the big screen.

This marks Sai Pallavi’s second collaboration with Dhanush after their earlier outing in Balaji Mohan’s Maari 2, a combination that still enjoys strong fan support.
Earlier this week, the makers had also introduced actress Sreeleela as part of the cast. Welcoming her to the team, the production house hinted at an unexpected addition, sparking curiosity about the film’s ensemble and narrative scale.
On the music front, the project has roped in rising composer Sai Abhyankkar, further adding to the excitement. Announcing his inclusion, Wunderbar Films described the collaboration as a fresh and powerful musical partnership. Sai Abhyankkar, in turn, shared his enthusiasm about working with Dhanush and director Rajkumar Periasamy, calling the project a dream collaboration and a special creative journey.
Director Rajkumar Periasamy also shared a heartfelt message, praising the young composer’s talent and welcoming him as the musical backbone of #D55, while thanking Dhanush and the production teams involved.
Adding to the scale of the project, R Take Studios recently announced that it has joined hands with Wunderbar Films as a co-producer. With multiple high-profile names, a promising technical team, and the makers already describing it as a magnum opus, #D55 has firmly positioned itself as one of the most eagerly awaited films on the horizon.
