Los Angeles, Feb 2: Pop star Kesha made a powerful style statement at the 68th Grammy Awards, marking her return to the prestigious ceremony after eight years with a striking white feathered gown and a deeply personal message.
The Take It Off singer walked the red carpet on Sunday night in an elegant white feathered gown designed by Atelier Biser. The off-shoulder ensemble featured oversized sleeves, a figure-hugging silhouette and a dramatic train, creating a snow-like effect that drew widespread attention.

However, the look was more than just a fashion moment. Speaking to E! News, Kesha revealed that her outfit was inspired by Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom and strength. “I really wanted to look like Athena,” she said, adding that the look symbolised freedom and empowerment. “This is my first Grammy weekend as a free woman, owning the rights to my voice—a record label head. I wanted my outside to match my insides.”
With the launch of her independent label, Kesha Records, in 2024, the singer now owns full rights to her music, a milestone she chose to celebrate through her Grammy appearance.
Adding to the statement, the 38-year-old singer went barefoot on the red carpet, skipping both footwear and jewellery, allowing the gown to take centre stage. She accessorised minimally, carrying only a shiny orb, further enhancing the symbolic nature of her look.
Kesha’s appearance marked her first time attending the Grammy Awards since 2018, when she received two nominations for her album Rainbow and the song Praying. Though she did not receive a Grammy nomination this year, she remains in the awards spotlight, with her song Dear Me, written for Diane Warren’s documentary Diane Warren: Relentless, earning a nomination for Best Original Song at the Oscars.
Ahead of the Grammys, Kesha also paid tribute to Mariah Carey with a special performance at the MusiCares gala, making her return to awards season both meaningful and memorable.
