Chennai, Feb 1: The upcoming romantic entertainer Haiku, directed by Yuvaraj Chinnasamy, officially went on floors on Sunday with a traditional pooja ceremony held in the scenic locales of Idukki, Kerala. The film stars Aegan, Femina George, and Sridevi Apalla in the lead roles.
Acclaimed filmmaker Ram, known for celebrated films such as Peranbu and Taramani, marked the occasion by giving the inaugural clap and conveying his wishes to the team, lending a special touch to the launch.
Produced by Dr. D. Arulanandhu and Mathewo Arulanandhu under the banner of Vision Cinema House, the project also features additional screenplay by Hari Haran Ram, who previously earned critical praise for directing Joe. The makers have reportedly placed strong emphasis on performances, with the entire cast undergoing an intensive 30-day rehearsal program guided by acting coach Rajesh, noted for training actors in films like Madharasi and Chittha.

Announcing the start of shooting, Vision Cinema House shared a charming animated video on its X handle, captioned, “Haiku’s love begins today. Netflix joins the journey…” The post also confirmed the lead cast, direction by Yuvaraj Chinnasamy, and music composed by Vijai Bulganin.
The animation hints at the film’s thematic core, suggesting a narrative set within an educational institution. Visuals of paper rockets transforming into three birds subtly point toward a love triangle involving the three central characters, setting the tone for a youthful and emotionally driven story.
Aegan, who essays the male lead, is known for his performance in Kozhipannai Chelladurai, while Femina George and Sridevi Apalla have previously made an impact with their roles in Minnal Murali and Court, respectively.
Adding to the buzz surrounding the project, the producers revealed that Netflix has already secured the film’s digital streaming rights, even before the completion of shooting.
On the technical side, Haiku boasts cinematography by Priyesh GuruSwamy, editing by Sakthi Pranesh, and music by Vijai Bulganin, whose recent works include Court and Baby. With its strong creative lineup and early streaming deal, Haiku has already begun drawing attention ahead of its release.
