New Delhi, Jan 31: Filmmaker Homi Adajania has wrapped up the shoot of the much-anticipated romantic comedy Cocktail 2, taking to Instagram to share a cheerful group picture with the cast and crew.
Homi wrote, “Cocktail 2 shoot wrapped. I may be biased, but this one feels a tad special. Big love to my fab crew & cast for tolerating the absurdity that I am. Love you guys.” The post featured the director with the three leads—Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna. Rashmika responded with, “Homsterrrrr!!!! Biggesttt love to you!!” while Kriti added, “Love you Homsterrrr!!”

In a recent interview with Zoom, Kriti described Cocktail 2 as a refreshing change from her recent, heavier roles. She said, “I was craving for it. I wanted to go into that really young, urban, fun space of a rom-com. Yes, it’s a sequel, but it’s more of a vibe sequel. The story, characters, and their backstories are completely different, only the vibe remains—the essence of Cocktail and of course, Maddock Films and Homi Adajania.”
Kriti further revealed that two major shooting schedules are complete, with the third set to begin soon in Mumbai. She added, “I think I’m looking so different from what I have ever looked, which I’m very excited about. It’s also very fresh.”
Highlighting the connection to the original Cocktail (2012), Kriti said, “Even when you watch Cocktail 1 today, it doesn’t feel 12 years old. Cocktail 2 follows that same approach—refreshing visuals, modern take on relationships, and a very relevant story. Shooting with Shahid and Rashmika has been a blast, and Homi’s craziness keeps us all going on a fun ride.”
About the Film:
Directed by Homi Adajania, Cocktail 2 is a sequel to the 2012 hit Cocktail, which starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty. Over a decade later, the film returns with a fresh story, new characters, and the signature charm of the original.
This marks Kriti’s second collaboration with Shahid Kapoor after Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. The film is expected to hit theatres by the end of 2026.
