Six Goa mining blocks set for April auction, tender process begins in February

Daijiworld Media Network - Panaji

Panaji, Jan 28: The Goa government will auction six mineral blocks—five situated in North Goa and one in South Goa—on April 16, Director of Mines and Geology (DMG) Narayan Gad announced on Tuesday.

The blocks earmarked for auction include two each in Cudnem and Pissurlem, along with one block each in Advalpale and Caurem. Collectively, these areas cover ten separate mining leases.

Gad said the process will formally begin with the sale of tender documents starting February 2, which will remain open until March 16. Prospective bidders will be required to adhere strictly to the procedures, eligibility conditions, and timelines laid down by the Directorate of Mines and Geology.

The upcoming auction marks another step in Goa’s efforts to restart regulated mining activity through a transparent bidding process following years of disruption in the sector.
