Patna, Jan 28: Panic erupted at the Patna Civil Court on Wednesday morning when police apprehended an armed criminal during a routine security check near Gate Number 1. The incident falls under the jurisdiction of Pirbahore police.

Police said two individuals had entered the court premises with alleged criminal intent, but their plans were thwarted thanks to vigilant security personnel. During frisking, one suspect was caught attempting to bring a pistol into the court complex.

The arrest caused immediate chaos among lawyers, litigants, and court staff. Several advocates voiced strong concerns over the breach, urging stricter surveillance and enhanced security measures at all entry points.

Town DSP-1 arrived at the scene to begin questioning the arrested individual, whose past criminal record is currently being verified. Meanwhile, the second suspect managed to escape, prompting a large-scale search operation. CCTV footage is being examined to track the movements of both suspects.

Security has been heightened across the Civil Court campus in the wake of the incident. Court authorities urged staff and lawyers to remain calm and cooperate with law enforcement.

Preliminary investigations indicate the suspects intended to create fear and disruption within the court. Police are analyzing their communications and planning to determine if a wider criminal network is involved.

Authorities have assured the public that the identities of the arrested individual and his accomplice will be revealed soon, and that all responsible parties will face strict legal action. The incident underscores the urgent need for stringent security protocols at sensitive institutions like court complexes.
