Minneapolis, Jan 13: Mill City Museum in downtown Minneapolis has once again earned national recognition, being named among nominees for the 20 best history museums in the United States for the fourth consecutive year.

Built within the historic ruins of the Washburn A. Mill, the museum secured a place in the publication’s top ten list in 2025, following top-five rankings in both 2023 and 2024. Museum officials expressed hope that 2026 would see it clinch the top spot.

“We are so grateful for all the support we’ve received from Minnesotans in this category,” said Mill City Museum Site Manager David Stevens. “Being nominated once again speaks to the hard work our staff does to create an impactful experience for our visitors.”

Public voting for the favourite history museum is open online, with votes permitted once daily. As of January 12, Mill City Museum was placed sixth, trailing institutions such as the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia and the Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh. Voting will continue until February 18.
