Prabhas fans protest as ‘The Raja Saab’ preview shows face delays in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Jan 9: What was expected to be a festive celebration for Prabhas fans ahead of the release of The Raja Saab turned chaotic on Tuesday night, as special preview screenings scheduled for January 8 were delayed without any official clarification at several theatres in Hyderabad.

Fans had gathered in large numbers outside theatres across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where preview shows were slated to begin at 9 pm. However, uncertainty prevailed as the screenings were delayed reportedly due to permission-related issues, leaving crowds waiting for hours with no clear information from theatre management.

Videos circulating on social media showed visibly angry fans shouting slogans and refusing to leave theatre premises until they were informed about the status of the shows. Many expressed frustration over the lack of communication, saying their excitement quickly turned into disappointment.

The situation worsened at Hyderabad’s Vimal Theatre, where staff allegedly failed to provide any updates. As tempers flared, some fans forced their way inside the halls during a media screening, demanding that the film be screened for them before they dispersed. Clips from inside the theatre soon went viral, highlighting both the agitation and the massive pre-release buzz surrounding Prabhas’s latest film.

Despite the chaotic start, The Raja Saab has now released in theatres. The film has received mixed reviews, with critics noting that while it marks a new genre attempt for Prabhas, the horror-fantasy blend may not appeal uniformly to all audiences.
