Amaravati, Jan 1: A deeply distressing incident has come to light from Andhra Pradesh’s Nandyal district, where a man and his three young children were found dead at their residence, triggering shock and sorrow across the region.
According to police, the incident took place in Thudumaladinne village of Uyyalawada Mandal. The deceased have been identified as Vemulapati Surendra (35) and his children—Kaavyashri (7), Dhyaneshwari (4), and Surya Gagan (2). Their bodies were discovered inside the house on Thursday.
Investigators believe the deaths were linked to severe personal and financial stress faced by Surendra, who had been raising the children on his own following the death of his wife in August last year. Locals said Surendra, a construction worker, had been struggling to cope with loss, health-related concerns in the family, and mounting economic pressures.
Police have registered a case and launched a detailed investigation. Samples collected from the house have been sent for forensic analysis, and the bodies were shifted for post-mortem examination. Officials said further details would emerge after receiving laboratory reports.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the village, with residents expressing grief over the loss of the young children.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident in neighbouring Telangana, a financial dispute allegedly led to the killing of a businessman in Jagtial district.
The incident occurred in Govindapalle village, where Anjayya (58) reportedly lost his life following an altercation linked to a chit fund disagreement. Police said Anjayya, who was running a chit fund scheme, had a dispute with Dasoju Sreenu over pending dues of Rs 12,000.
What began as a heated argument reportedly escalated into violence, with Sreenu and his son Dasoju Venu allegedly attacking Anjayya. He was rushed to a hospital for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries.
Police have taken up the investigation in the case and are examining all angles related to the financial dispute.
