Hyderabad, Dec 31: The team behind director Maruthi’s much-anticipated horror thriller The Raja Saab has unveiled the first look of actress Riddhi Kumar from the film, revealing that she plays a character named Anitha. The announcement was made on Wednesday, further fuelling excitement around the Prabhas-starrer.

Production house People Media Factory shared the poster on social media, introducing the character with the caption: “Meet ANITHA from the world of #TheRajaSaab. A presence you naturally gravitate towards.” The reveal has drawn strong reactions from fans, adding to the buzz surrounding the film.

Interest in The Raja Saab has been steadily building, especially after the release of its gripping trailer. The preview strikes a fine balance between eerie horror and light-hearted humour, offering a glimpse into a film that promises to entertain on multiple fronts.

The trailer opens with Prabhas undergoing hypnosis by a specialist to uncover memories from his past. As he slips into a trance, he senses a sinister presence lurking in the darkness and abruptly awakens. While the setup leans into suspense and fear, the tone soon shifts to comedy. In one standout moment, a spirit prepares to confront Prabhas, only for him to casually greet it as his grandfather and offer to introduce it to others. When VTV Ganesh questions the idea, Prabhas humorously responds by urging everyone to run.

Beyond horror and comedy, the film also appears to pack in romance and high-octane action. The trailer hints at several visually striking action sequences, raising expectations among fans. Sanjay Dutt’s character is introduced with an ominous voiceover describing him as far more than an ordinary magician — an exorcist, hypnotist and psychiatrist who manipulates minds.

The trailer’s closing moments reveal a dramatic twist, showing Prabhas in a demonic avatar. Seated upside down on a throne and smoking a cigar, he delivers a powerful line asserting his true identity as a demon, leaving viewers intrigued and eager for more.

The Raja Saab has generated considerable anticipation as it marks Prabhas’ first full-fledged foray into the horror genre. With this project, the actor is seen stepping into unfamiliar territory, adding to the curiosity around the film.

Scheduled for a theatrical release on January 10, 2026, The Raja Saab features cinematography by Karthik Palani and music composed by Thaman S. The film also stars Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal and Riddhi Kumar, a trio expected to bring charm and vibrancy to the film’s spooky yet colourful universe.
