Jaipur, Dec 29: In a significant breakthrough against narcotics networks, Rajasthan Police have dismantled a clandestine MDMA manufacturing unit hidden deep within the forested hills of Baglia in Pratapgarh district. The action was carried out as part of the ongoing anti-drug ?????? ‘Operation Chakravyuh’.

The crackdown was executed under the supervision of Pratapgarh Superintendent of Police B. Aditya. According to officials, the breakthrough came late on the night of December 29 when a patrol team from Hathunia Police Station noticed an unusual fire flickering on a hilltop along the deserted Baglia–Takrawad road.

The sight raised suspicion, especially given the cold weather and the remoteness of the location. Acting on instinct, the police team abandoned their vehicles and trekked uphill, where they stumbled upon a makeshift plastic shed concealed by thick foliage. Inside, they found a fully functional synthetic drug manufacturing setup.

During the raid, a 21-year-old man, identified as Karim Ajmeri of Baglia, tried to escape but was quickly overpowered by the police. A search of his belongings led to the seizure of 28.54 grams of MDMA. Upon interrogation, Karim revealed that he was stationed there to guard the unit on the instructions of Haroon Ajmeri.
Police also confiscated a motorcycle and various chemicals, tools, and equipment used in the production of the banned drug.

Investigators have identified Haroon Ajmeri as the key figure behind the operation. He is a notorious drug trafficker with at least four serious cases registered against him under the NDPS Act in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Despite earlier action against him — including the freezing of assets acquired through illegal trade under Section 68(F) — Haroon allegedly continued his activities from remote forest locations to evade law enforcement.

Multiple teams have now been deployed to conduct raids at suspected hideouts to track down and arrest the absconding mastermind.

The operation involved a coordinated effort by Hathunia SHO Udayveer Singh, ASIs Bholuram and Ramchandra, Head Constables Rajveer, Manoharsingh and Suresh Kumar, along with Constables Anop, Mukesh, Arun, Suresh, Girish Chand, Bhagwatilal, and driver Ganpat.

Police said further investigation is underway to uncover the full extent of the network and identify other individuals linked to the illegal drug manufacturing racket.
