Mapusa court extends Ajay Gupta’s police custody in Birch fire case

Mapusa, Dec 29: The JMFC Court in Mapusa on Monday extended the police custody of Ajay Gupta by five days in connection with the ongoing investigation into the Birch fire case.

During the hearing, Gupta assured the court that he would cooperate with the police investigation.

Separately, Mapusa police had previously arrested Gupta in another case alleging that he forged documents to obtain an excise licence for the Birch restaurant.
