Young writer and orator Reshel Fernandes conferred ‘Desh Ratna Award 2025’ in New Delhi

Mangaluru, Dec 25: Young author and orator, and ABVP member, Reshel Fernandes has been conferred the prestigious ‘Desh Ratna Award 2025’ in recognition of her outstanding literary achievements. The award was presented at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, by the Bharat Yuva Association, in association with the Ministry of Labour and Skill Development, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, along with other Union ministries.

The award ceremony, held at the Government of India venue, was attended by several dignitaries, including Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Uttar Pradesh minister Raghuraj Singh, Rashtriya BJP OBC Morcha president Vinay Kumar Choudhary, and other ministers and senior officials of the ministries concerned.

Reshel Fernandes is currently a final-year LLB student at SDM Law College and an alumna of Shri Mahavir College, Moodbidri. Known for her articulate oratory skills and literary contributions, she has consistently engaged with youth-centric and social issues through writing and public speaking platforms. An active member of the Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), she has emerged as a young voice with a growing presence in academic, literary and social circles.

In the coming days, Reshel is set to join the Bharatiya Janata Party, with a focus on youth and women empowerment, signalling her intent to expand her public and organisational engagement.

She was recently recognised as the ‘Voice of India’ and named among the ‘Top Ten of the Year 2025’ by Literature Today, further underscoring her rising profile in the fields of literature and oration.
