Panaji, Dec 25: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Governor Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju on Wednesday extended warm Christmas greetings to the people of Goa, especially the Christian community, calling upon citizens to uphold the values of peace, compassion and unity.

In his message, Sawant said Christmas symbolises peace, goodwill, compassion and hope—values that have long strengthened Goa’s social fabric. He noted that the teachings of Jesus Christ continue to inspire people to live with kindness, humility and a spirit of service, and urged Goans to practise these ideals not just during the festive season but throughout the year. Emphasising Goa’s tradition of peaceful coexistence, he appealed to citizens to nurture harmony, understanding and mutual respect across communities.

Governor Raju, in his Christmas message, said the birth of Jesus Christ brought timeless values of peace, love, sacrifice and brotherhood to humanity. He described Christmas as a time for families and friends to come together, reflect on life’s blessings and extend kindness to others.

Both leaders wished the people of Goa a joyful and blessed Christmas and expressed hope that the festive season would usher in peace, progress and prosperity for the State.
