Vasco locals foil house break-in, hand over suspect to police

Vasco, Dec 23: Quick action by residents of Bhutebhat in Vasco led to the capture of a suspected burglar after an attempted break-in at a vacant house in the area.

According to locals, a group of five individuals allegedly targeted a house whose occupants had been away for the last five days. Neighbours noticed unusual activity around the premises and immediately moved in to confront the intruders.

While four of the suspects managed to flee before being caught, residents were able to detain one person at the scene. The apprehended individual was later handed over to the police for further legal action.

Locals said the suspect is believed to be a resident of Margao. Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are making efforts to identify and track down the remaining suspects who escaped.
