Goa health officials gear up as oxygen needs expected to rise with Covid surge

Panaji, Dec 18: With a recent rise in COVID 19 cases in Goa, health authorities are working to stock up medicinal oxygen supplies and strengthen treatment resources across hospitals in anticipation of demand doubling soon, officials said on Thursday.

The state has already increased its oxygen inventories to meet the expected surge, with the Goa Medical College and South Goa district hospital among the key facilities boosting capacity to support critical patients effectively.

Local health officials said efforts are underway to scale up oxygen availability rapidly in response to the evolving situation.
