Udupi: Dr Ananth S Mathad joins the Surgical Oncology Department of Adarsha Hospital

Udupi, Dec 15: Dr Ananth S Mathad, a specialist doctor with nearly 20 years of distinguished service in the medical field, has newly joined the Surgical Oncology Department of Adarsha Hospital, located near the city service bus stand.

An expert in cancer surgery, Dr Mathad’s induction is expected to significantly strengthen and expand the hospital’s Oncology services. He is a highly skilled, evidence-based surgical oncologist trained at AIIMS, with six years of dedicated experience in Surgical Oncology. His expertise includes minimally invasive and complex cancer surgeries. He is known for delivering personalised and multidisciplinary cancer care, with a strong focus on improved outcomes, organ preservation and patient-centric treatment planning across all cancer types.

The Adarsha Hospital medical director, Dr G S Chandrashekar, stated that the Surgical Oncology Department will offer comprehensive treatment for breast cancer, head and neck cancers, gastrointestinal cancers, gynaecological cancers, Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) cancer, thoracic (chest) cancers, soft tissue and sarcoma cancers, colorectal cancers, uro-Oncology, tumors seen in children, minimally invasive surgeries including laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures, breast and reconstructive surgeries, advanced-stage cancer surgeries and palliative surgeries. Advanced treatments such as hyperthermic chemotherapy will also be available in the coming days.
