Rajasthan High Court hit by fifth bomb threat in six weeks, search declared a hoax

Jaipur, Dec 10: The Rajasthan High Court faced yet another bomb threat on Wednesday—its second in two days and the fifth in just six weeks—triggering a swift security response across the premises. An email warning prompted authorities to place the court complex on high alert as bomb disposal and dog squads immediately arrived to conduct checks.

A detailed search operation began at 8 a.m., with teams combing through the Satyamev Jayate building, parking zones, record rooms, and multiple other areas. After nearly two hours of intensive inspection, no suspicious object was discovered. The court was eventually declared safe, allowing judicial work to resume at 11:30 a.m.

The latest threat comes at a particularly sensitive moment, just a day before the Rajasthan High Court Bar Association elections set for December 11. The court had already received similar emails on October 31, December 5, and twice more on December 8 and 9, raising serious concerns about gaps in security systems and response protocols.

These recurring hoax alerts have repeatedly disrupted court operations, forcing evacuations and delaying hearings. On both Tuesday and Wednesday, the premises were cleared instantly, with lawyers, court staff, and litigants moved out as proceedings were suspended until the searches were completed. Wednesday’s threat has also been deemed a hoax.

The investigation has now been handed over to the Cyber Cell, which will carry out technical analysis to trace the source of the emails. Security agencies are working to bolster surveillance, tighten entry checks, and enhance safety across the High Court complex. Authorities have urged the public to remain alert and report any suspicious activity to prevent further incidents.
