New Delhi, Dec 9: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday arrested another key conspirator linked to the November Delhi bomb blast, taking the total number of arrests in the case to eight.

The accused, Dr Bilal Naseer Malla of Baramulla (J&K), was apprehended in Delhi. According to the NIA, Bilal was directly involved in the conspiracy behind the Red Fort area blast that killed 11 people and injured several others.

Investigators allege that Bilal knowingly sheltered deceased accused Umar Un Nabi, providing him logistical support and later aiding in the destruction of evidence.

The NIA said it is pursuing multiple leads and working with central and state agencies to uncover the full extent of the terror network.

Earlier in the day, NIA teams, assisted by the J&K Police, conducted searches in the forests of Anantnag district in connection with the November 10 blast. Two arrested accused — Dr Adil Rather and Jasir Bilal Wani — were brought to the site to help pinpoint crucial locations for the investigation.

The blast was carried out by Dr Umar Nabi, who detonated an explosive-laden car near the Red Fort, killing himself along with 11 civilians.

The arrests stem from the exposure of a white-collar terror module operated by local doctors, uncovered through joint operations by J&K Police and Haryana Police in Faridabad. The crackdown had earlier led to the arrest of Dr Adil Rather and Dr Muzammil Ganai, while Umar Nabi had initially evaded capture.

The NIA continues its probe to map the entire conspiracy and identify all individuals involved in planning, financing, and executing the attack.
