Airports mull compensation claim after IndiGo flight chaos

Daijiworld Media Network – New Delhi

New Delhi, Dec 9: Private airport operators are assessing the extent of revenue loss after IndiGo cancelled nearly 4,500 flights last week, triggering disruption across major airports.

Sources said internal discussions are underway on whether compensation should be sought from the airline for the impact on business.

“Yes, we are having discussions amongst the senior management on whether we should look at compensation for the loss of business. We have a symbiotic relationship and it is a sensitive issue.

Let the crisis get over and flight operations stabilise, then we will take a final call. We will get a complete picture once all flights are back, which might take a few days,” a senior executive said.
