Udupi: Bellevision, Konkans Dubai to host ‘The Winter Smash 2025’ women’s throwball tournament

Udupi, Dec 09: Bellevision and Konkans Dubai jointly organizes 'The Winter Smash 2025', an exciting women’s throwball tournament set to take place on Sunday, December 14, at 8.30 am. The event will be hosted at the grounds of St Lawrence English Medium School, Moodubelle.

With the tagline 'Feel the chill, play with thrill', the tournament aims to bring Roman Catholic women's teams from across the Udupi and Mangalore dioceses onto one platform to showcase their sporting talent, teamwork, and competitive spirit.

The organizers have announced that participation will be limited to 10 teams, strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. In a gesture promoting community sports, no entry fee will be charged. Each team is required to field 9 players and 3 substitutes, and all matches will follow a league format.

Officials emphasized that teams must strictly adhere to official Throwball rules and respect the umpire’s decisions, which will be final. Wearing a team jersey is mandatory for all participants to ensure uniformity and discipline on the field.

Attractive prizes have been announced for the winners. The champions will take home Rs 12,000 and a trophy, while the runners-up will receive Rs 9,000 and a trophy. The third-place team will be awarded Rs 6,000 and a trophy.

Individual excellence will also be recognized with trophies and a cash prize of Rs 2,500 each for player of the match, best attacker, and best defender.
