FOCUS Mangalore celebrates Christmas, elects new office bearers for 2026-27

Mangaluru, Dec 9: The Forum of Christian United Services, (FOCUS) Mangalore, celebrated Christmas 2025 on December 6, at Maria Jayanthi Hall, Jeppu Seminary, Mangalore. The event was blessed by Fr Roshan D'Cunha, director of YCS YSM diocese of Mangalore, and presided over by John B Monteiro, former president of Rachana Catholic Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mangaluru. The chief guest of the day was Joe Pradeep D'Souza, senior assistant director of horticulture, Bantwal taluk.

The same day, the Annual General Body meeting was held, and new office bearers were elected for the year 2026-27. 

The newly elected office bearers are:

- President: Melwyn Prakash Pereira, MESCOM, Bantwal

- Vice president: Kevin Lobo, Siddakatte, Bantwal

- Secretary: Pius D'Souza, MESCOM, Mangaluru

- Treasurer: Melwyn D'Souza, MESCOM, Ullal

- Co-ordinator: Sunil Monteiro, MESCOM, Gurpura Kaikamba

- Organisation secretary: Cyril Robert D'Souza, Permannur Ullal

The organisation also recognised students who excelled in their academics, presenting them with rewards. Additionally, as a gesture of charity, they extended help to two cancer patients.

The dignitaries were welcomed by John D'Souza, president of the Focus Organisation. Beena D'Souza, secretary of the organisation, proposed the vote of thanks.

The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Maurice D'Souza, convenor of the organisation.

Entertainment, games and other activities were conducted by Wilfred Mathais. Lunch arrangements were made for the programme.

Approximately 92 people from the Christian community – serving and retired officers and employees from various government departments, as well as electricity contractors – participated in this event.
