Kia confirms new-gen Seltos launch on Dec 10

New Delhi, Dec 8: Kia India has officially announced that the new-generation Seltos will make its debut in the Indian market on December 10. First introduced in 2019, the Seltos quickly became one of the country’s most successful mid-size SUVs. A 2023 facelift helped it maintain its strong sales momentum, and the new-gen model now aims to build on that popularity.

Kia has begun teasing design elements of the upcoming Seltos on social media. The SUV will sport a sharper, more aggressive front fascia with redesigned LED DRLs that align with the brand’s latest global styling cues. At the rear, the new tail-light setup and lightbar draw heavy inspiration from the Carnival. Updated bumpers, redesigned alloy wheels, a shark-fin antenna, and an integrated rear spoiler will also feature in the refreshed package.

While the interior remains under wraps, the cabin is expected to take cues from the Carens, Clavis and Syros. A new multi-function steering wheel, dual displays, a layered dashboard and a redesigned centre console are anticipated, along with fresh upholstery options.

Under the hood, Kia is likely to retain the current engine lineup — turbo-petrol, naturally aspirated petrol and diesel units. The possibility of an all-electric or hybrid version also exists, though nothing has been confirmed. Transmission choices are expected to include a 6-speed manual, DCT, CVT, torque-converter automatic and iMT, depending on the engine selected.

The 2026 Seltos will continue to take on rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, MG Astor, Tata Sierra, Maruti Suzuki Victoris and Honda Elevate as Kia gears up for one of its most significant launches of the year.
