Unity Mall project clears hurdle as Panchayat appeal dismissed

Panaji, Dec 5: In a key decision for the proposed Unity Mall project, the deputy director of Panchayat has rejected the appeal filed against the Tiswadi BDO’s directive to the Chimbel Village Panchayat.

Earlier, the Block Development officer (BDO) had instructed the Panchayat to grant a construction licence to the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) for the upcoming Unity Mall. With the dismissal of the appeal, the project is now set to move forward, clearing a major administrative hurdle.
