Srinagar, Dec 1: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday carried out simultaneous raids across the Kashmir Valley in connection with last month’s Red Fort explosion in Delhi. The central agency confirmed searches at eight locations registered under a New Delhi case.

Early Monday, NIA teams conducted coordinated operations in South Kashmir, including the homes of Dr Adeel Ahmad Rather in Kulgam, Dr Muzamil Shakeel Ganai in Koil village of Pulwama, cleric Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay in Shopian, and Amir Rashid in Samboora village of Pulwama.

All four individuals were previously arrested by Jammu and Kashmir Police for their links to an Ansar Ghazwatul Hind terror module, which included Dr Umar Nabi, the driver of the car that exploded outside Red Fort metro station, killing 13 and injuring 32. Earlier raids had recovered over 350 kilograms of ammonium nitrate from suspects Dr Adeel, Dr Muzamil, and Dr Shaheen Shahid, a Lucknow resident, prior to the blast.

The NIA has already taken six arrests in the case, including the three doctors, Amir Rashid, Mufti Irfan, and Jasir Bilal, a neighbour of Dr Adeel. The latest raids aim to uncover further evidence, including material and digital records, to unravel the full conspiracy behind the attack.
