Beltangady: Minor girl pregnancy case; accused arrested

Beltangady, Nov 30: Venur police have arrested the accused in a case related to the sexual assault and impregnation of a minor girl after luring her. The Mangaluru POCSO court has ordered judicial custody.

Based on the complaint filed by the victim's family, the police had registered a case under the POCSO Act against the accused. It is alleged that the accused took the girl to his house under the pretext of marriage and forced her into sexual intercourse on multiple occasions.

The arrest was made near the Venoor bus stand by a team of Venur Police Station PSIs Akshay and Oman. The operation was led by Beltangady circle inspector Ravi B S, under the guidance of Beltangady DYSP Rohini C K.
