Mangaluru, Nov 27: Poetica poets organized Poetica Kavighoshti 45 along with a distribution programme of shoes, socks and toys for all students of Madeline Higher Primary School, Mulki, on November 25.
The event began with a band performance to welcome the guests, followed by a prayer song and a welcome dance presented by the schoolchildren.
The programme was presided over by Sr Chalet D’Souza, advisor of Bethany congregation, Mangalore province. The chief guest was Hemacharya, managing trustee of Sarva Dharma Sangama. Other dignitaries present included programme organiser Naveen Pereira, Suratkal; Kavighoshti president Mansoor Mulki; Madeline High School headmistress Sr Jacinta D’Souza; vice president of the Teachers’ Association of Madeline Higher Primary School, Suma; and headmistress of Madeline Higher Primary School, Sr Presilla Flory D’Souza. All guests were warmly welcomed by headmistress Sr Presilla Flory D’Souza. The event was inaugurated by lighting the lamp.






















































Programme convenor and Poetica head Naveen Pereira, Suratkal, was felicitated by the school on this occasion. Chief guest and Daijiworld director Hemacharya, along with programme president Sr Chalet D’Souza, appreciated Poetica’s literary contributions and its commitment to public welfare.
Under the leadership of Mansoor Mulki, an alumnus of Madeline School and a police officer, the Kavighoshti featured poetry recitations by renowned poets such as Jossy Pinto, Hemacharya, Edward Lobo Tokkottu, Maria George Kulsekhar and Poetica head Naveen Pereira, Suratkal. After the Kavighoshti, Edward Lobo entertained and mesmerised the children with a mimicry performance.
Shoes, socks and toys were distributed to all the children.
The programme was compered by teacher Cony P Vaz, while teacher Lavina Joyce Rodrigues delivered the vote of thanks.
The joy on the children’s faces as they received their toys created a heavenly and heart-warming atmosphere that captivated everyone present.
