Udupi, Nov 28: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Sri Krishna Matha, Udupi district Deputy Commissioner Swaroopa T K has announced major traffic diversions and restrictions across Udupi city on November 28.
The traffic regulations, effective from 6 am to 3 pm, have been implemented following a request from the Superintendent of Police to ensure smooth vehicular movement and prevent congestion during the high-profile visit.

An official order issued by the administration outlines restricted routes, alternative routes, and designated parking arrangements for vehicles arriving for the Prime Minister’s programme and roadshow.
Parking arrangements for vehicles attending the programme:
Vehicles coming from Kundapura must park at the Silas School parking area.
Vehicles from Kundapura may drop passengers at Gundibail, take a U-turn and proceed to MGM Grounds for parking.
Vehicles arriving via the Karkala Belle route must park at Christian High School, PU College and Bailoor Muddanna Estate.
Vehicles from Mangaluru side attending the roadshow must also use Bailoor Muddanna Estate for parking.
Vehicles from Malpe side attending the roadshow must park at the ground opposite Shamili.
Vehicles arriving via Karkala–Hebri for the programme must proceed through Sharada Kalyana Mantapa and park at Beedinagudde.
Roadshow attendees from Malpe must park at the Vivekananda School parking.
Restrictions on buses and four wheelers:
KSRTC and private buses will not be permitted to enter the Udupi Bus Stand. They must operate via Ambagilu – Manipal – Alevoor – Korangrapady, and proceed through Balaipade, avoiding the city area.
Vehicles travelling from Malpe to Mangaluru should use the Padukere – Pithrody – Udyavara route.
Vehicles travelling from Malpe to Kundapura must proceed via Santhekatte and Nejar.
Vehicles travelling from Mangaluru to Kundapura are to follow the route: Katapady – Manipur – Dendoorukatte – Rampura – Alevoor – Guddeangadi – Manipal – RSB Auditorium – Syndicate Circle – Coin Circle – Perampalli – Ambagilu Cross – NH 66.
Vehicles from Katapady–Udyavara must travel via Balaipade – Guddeangadi – Korangrapady Cross – Kukkikatte – Jodu Road – Alevoor Guddeangadi – Manipal – Coin Circle – Perampalli – NH 66.
For Vehicles travelling from Kundapura to Mangaluru, the permitted route is Ambagilu NH 66 – Ambagilu Perampalli Cross – Perampalli – Coin Circle – Syndicate Circle – Manipal RSB Auditorium – Alevoor Guddeangadi – Rampura – Dendoorukatte – Manipur – Katapady.
Vehicles from Mangaluru to Malpe must move via NH 66 – Kia Showroom Junction (Udyavara) – Udyavara Pete – Pithrody – Sampige Nagar – Kutpadi – Kadekar – Kidiyoor – Malpe.
From 7 am to 3 pm, no vehicles from Karavali will be allowed towards the Udupi City Bus Stand or the Udupi city area.
Authorities have urged the public to cooperate with the temporary arrangements made to ensure security and seamless traffic flow during the prime minister’s visit.
