Union minister offers Rs 10 lac to villages for voting BJP in Telangana Panchayat polls

Daijiworld Media Network - Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Nov 26: Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar has promised Rs 10 lakh to villages in Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency if they elect BJP-backed candidates in the upcoming Gram Panchayat elections in Telangana next month.

Speaking to voters, Sanjay Kumar alleged that previous BRS and Congress governments had repeatedly deceived people by promising funds for Panchayats that elected their candidates unanimously but failed to deliver. “Karimnagar villages: Elect a BJP-backed candidate unanimously and get Rs 10 lakh instantly for development. No delays, no excuses,” he stated in a post on X on Tuesday.

The Minister said that as an MP, he could allocate funds under MPLADS and had also previously mobilized corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds for education and healthcare projects in the constituency. “As Union Minister, I can secure even more central funds to strengthen Panchayat development,” he added.

Sanjay Kumar accused the former BRS government of promising Rs five lakh to Panchayats with unanimous elections, but not releasing a single rupee, and said the Congress had similarly failed to deliver in the past. He urged voters not to trust “false promises” by these parties and claimed that only BJP could bring real funds to the villages.

The Telangana State Election Commission announced a three-phase schedule for Gram Panchayat elections on November 25, to be held on December 11, 14, and 17.
