Mumbai, Nov 25: In a significant development from the film fraternity, Bollywood actress Celina Jaitly has approached a Mumbai court with a domestic violence complaint against her husband, Austrian hotelier and entrepreneur Peter Haag. The actress has filed the plea under the Domestic Violence Act, accusing Haag of cruelty, manipulation and physical and emotional abuse. Acting on her petition, the court has issued a formal notice to Haag. Further details regarding the allegations and the upcoming hearings are awaited.
Celina Jaitly and Peter Haag married in 2011 in Austria, and the couple welcomed twin sons in 2012. In 2017, they were blessed with another set of twins, but tragedy struck when one of the infants passed away due to a hypoplastic heart condition. Celina, known for memorable performances in No Entry, Golmaal Returns, Thank You, and Apna Sapna Money Money, has largely stayed away from the limelight over the last few years, surfacing mainly during significant personal events.

This case emerges soon after another legal plea filed by the actress. Just last month, Celina approached a Delhi court seeking intervention in the alleged illegal abduction and detention of her brother, Major (Retd.) Vikrant Jaitly, in the United Arab Emirates, where he has been residing since 2016. Vikrant, associated with the MATITI Group—engaged in consultancy, trading and risk management—was reportedly detained in September 2024. Celina claimed that the Ministry of External Affairs had been unable to provide even basic information about his condition or legal status.
Taking note of her plea, the Delhi court directed authorities to ensure that Vikrant’s family is able to establish contact with him and facilitate communication with both Celina and his wife.
The developments have once again placed Celina Jaitly in the spotlight, with many awaiting further clarity on both the domestic violence case and her brother’s situation in the UAE.
