Indian family with toddler hit in random pepper-spray attack on river walk boat ride

San Antonio, Nov 24: A peaceful boat ride along San Antonio’s popular River Walk turned chaotic when an Indian family with a toddler became victims of a random pepper-spray attack on November 15.

According to reports, a woman on the tourist boat grew aggressive after being asked by the operator — and a few passengers — to lower the volume of her phone. Though the Indian family had not objected, the woman allegedly took out a pepper-spray can and sprayed it indiscriminately at the crowd.

A video of the confrontation, which has since gone viral, shows the woman threatening passengers. “Stop recording me, or I’ll slap you… I will slap you, I will,” she is heard saying.

San Antonio Police said the operator halted the boat to allow the woman to disembark, but moments after stepping off, she sprayed the boat, affecting at least eight passengers, including the toddler.

Police reached the spot soon after, but the attacker had already fled. No arrests have been made yet, and the woman has not been identified. Viral videos, however, claim she later reacted on TikTok, saying she was “not sorry at all” and would “slap everyone on the boat.”

The Indian family has not been publicly identified, though a social media user claiming to know them said they are safe and have filed a complaint.

The user added that the attacker escalated the situation unnecessarily after being politely asked to reduce her phone volume, and that the pepper spray had hit the family’s three-year-old child as well.
