Mangaluru, Nov 19: Sensei Keval Kumar, chief instructor of ‘School of Karate-Do – The Way of Self Defence’, led a talented team to a strong finish at the 8th GKA Open National-level Karate Championship held on November 16 at Chamundi Vihar Indoor Stadium, Mysuru.
The young karatekas returned with an impressive medal tally across Kata and Kumite categories, making their academy proud with their spirited performances.








Muhammad Rashaad secured 3rd place in Individual Kata, while Neil Xavier Fernandes and Sharvin Prinson D’Souza also clinched 3rd in Individual Kata. Lavith Kumar K bagged 3rd place in both Individual Kata and Individual Kumite.
Mohith R Naik impressed with a 3rd place finish in Individual Kata, and Jayalaxmi emerged as the standout performer, winning 1st place in Individual Kumite along with a 3rd in Individual Kata.
Ashel Niah D’Souza and Mohammed Shahad added to the tally with 3rd place finishes in Individual Kata, while Shahad also achieved 3rd in Individual Kumite (not in the picture).
The team’s success reflects their dedication, discipline, and the rigorous training under Sensei Keval Kumar.
