Chennai, Nov 18: The team behind Sudha Kongara’s much-awaited period drama Parasakthi announced on Tuesday that actress Sreeleela has officially begun dubbing for her role in the film, which stars Sivakarthikeyan in the lead.

Production house Dawn Pictures shared the update on X, writing:

“Her own voice, on the big screen. @sreeleela14 starts dubbing for #Parasakthi — Get set for the grand arrival in theatres on January 14th. #ParasakthiFromPongal #ParasakthiFromJan14.”

The announcement was accompanied by a short video of the actress recording her lines.

This development follows closely on the heels of actor Ravi Mohan, who plays the film’s antagonist, beginning his dubbing work just a week earlier.

The makers had revealed on October 21 that shooting for Parasakthi had been completed. The film wrapped its Pollachi schedule in August, a phase during which several key sequences were reportedly filmed. The schedule began on July 18, with Sivakarthikeyan joining slightly later.

Parasakthi was shot across three major schedules — Madurai, Sri Lanka, and Pollachi — each contributing integral portions to the story.

The film has already generated significant excitement among fans, thanks to its intriguing premise. Set in the 1960s Madras, the narrative features Sivakarthikeyan as a bold student leader at Pachaiyappa’s College, rallying youths against an oppressive system. The teaser hints at escalating conflict, showcasing Ravi Mohan’s character’s ruthless pursuit of the protagonist.

Originally referred to as #SK25, marking Sivakarthikeyan’s 25th film, Parasakthi also stars Atharvaa in an important role. The film boasts music by G.V. Prakash Kumar, cinematography by Ravi K. Chandran, and action choreography by Supreme Sundar.

The film is slated for a grand theatrical release on January 14, coinciding with the Pongal festival.
