Basti, Nov 18: A rather unusual scene unfolded in Uttar Pradesh’s Basti on Monday when District Magistrate Kritika Jyotsna and Superintendent of Police Abhinandan were seen sprinting towards the helipad moments before Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s helicopter touched down at Sri Krishna Pandey Inter College grounds.

The two senior officials, who reportedly arrived late, were caught on camera running ahead of their vehicles — with the DM in a saree — to reach the spot in time. The video has since gone viral, drawing a wave of humorous reactions online, with many comparing the duo to sprint legends PT Usha and Usain Bolt.

CM Adityanath was in Basti to attend a condolence meet for the revered Nanda Baba, who passed away on the intervening night of November 3–4. Soon after landing, the Chief Minister proceeded to the saint’s ashram at the South Gate, where he offered tributes and interacted with assembled saints.

Nanda Baba, a widely respected religious figure, had long been associated with the Gorakhnath Temple in Gorakhpur, where Adityanath serves as the mahant.
