Islamabad, Nov 16: The dengue outbreak in Pakistan’s southern Sindh province continues to worsen, with three more deaths reported on Saturday, taking the statewide fatality count to 36 for the year, according to the provincial health department.

Officials said a 50-year-old man and an 80-year-old woman succumbed to the virus in Hyderabad, while a 55-year-old woman died in Karachi.

During the last reporting period, 5,229 tests were conducted, of which 774 returned positive, indicating that dengue transmission remains high. Hospitals across Sindh admitted over 180 new patients, while 191 recovered and were discharged.

Health authorities have once again appealed to the public to destroy stagnant water sources, use protective measures, and seek immediate medical care upon developing symptoms such as fever, body ache, or nausea.
