Mangaluru, Nov 14: The Annual Sports Meet of Milagres College was conducted on November 11 at the Mangala Stadium.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr Gerald Santosh D’Souza, director of physical education, Mangalore University. In his inaugural address, he emphasized that sports play a significant role in enhancing both the mental and physical well-being of students. He further noted that modern dietary habits are causing adverse effects on health and stressed the importance of maintaining physical fitness from an early age.






Presiding over the event, the principal of Milagres College, Dr Alwin Serrao, remarked that sports are an essential activity for strengthening the physical capabilities of students.
The programme was attended by Vijayalakshmi, president of the college staff welfare association; Fr Joseph Uday Fernandes, principal of Milagres CBSE School; Melwin Vas, principal of the Pre-University College.
A march-past by students from various departments formed a significant part of the event. The welcome address was delivered by lecturer Manjusha, and the programme was compered by lecturer Lenisha.
