Amit Shah vows exemplary punishment for Delhi blast culprits

New Delhi, Nov 13: Union home minister Amit Shah on Thursday reaffirmed the government’s zero-tolerance stance on terrorism, vowing that every individual involved in the recent Delhi bomb blast will face exemplary punishment.

Virtually addressing the inauguration of Shri Motibhai R. Chaudhary Sainik School and Sagar Organic Plant in Boriyavi, Gujarat, Shah said, “This government is determined to ensure that all those responsible for this heinous act, at any level, are brought before the court and punished in a manner that sends a strong message to the world.”

Paying tribute to the victims of Monday’s blast near the Red Fort, which killed several people and injured around 25 others, the Home Minister expressed condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery for the injured. “The government stands firmly with the families who lost their loved ones. Those behind this act will not escape justice,” he said in his message.

Meanwhile, the investigation into the Red Fort blast has uncovered alarming details. According to sources, 32 vehicles — including a Maruti Brezza, Swift Dzire, Ford EcoSport, and Hyundai i20 — were reportedly being prepared to carry explosives as part of a planned serial attack in Delhi and other locations on December 6, the anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition.

Investigators revealed that the cars were deliberately chosen because they were older vehicles resold multiple times, making it harder to trace ownership. So far, four vehicles have been recovered, including the Brezza (HR87 U 9988), found on the campus of Al-Falah School of Medical Sciences and Research Centre in Faridabad, now identified as the hub of the terror operation.

Another car, the Ford EcoSport (DL10 CK 0458), was found abandoned in Faridabad late Wednesday. Police detained an unidentified young man discovered asleep in the back seat, who is now being questioned.

Authorities continue to trace the remaining vehicles and suspects as part of what they describe as a planned, multi-city terror conspiracy.
